The philosophy of La Inmaculada Credit Union Limited is to positively influenced
and contribute in the lives of our general membership. We are aware that
the youths are the hope of the future and they are the ones who will have
the arduous task of moving our nation forward in the years to come. Education
plays an important role in the development of us as individuals and of our
nation as a growing one. It is with this in mind that we started our scholarship
program for our young members in 2004 in which Yesenia Monterroso was awarded
the first scholarship for 2004-2008. The scholarship covers the yearly school
fees for the student at a secondary high school in the town of their choice.
The scholarship requires that the students maintain a G.P.A. of at least 3.0 because
we believe that there is potential in all of our students and we must demand
excellence from them to motivate them to be at their very best always.
LICU encourages the recipients not only to excel in their academic performance but also to participate in extracurricular activities that will enable them to become well-rounded individuals who can make informed decisions. The participation in non-academic activities enhances good communication skills and it opens their minds to the views and opinions of others so that they can appreciate life from another perspective.
We look forward in continuing this program so that we may be of assistance to our young members in their pursuit of knowledge. Two important requirements needed to win this scholarship are to do well in school and have a good recommendation from the school and teacher. Future applicants, make sure that their grades are excellent and their behavior is commendable.
We are extremely pleased with the performance of Yesenia Monterroso, who has now graduated from Muffles College with honors. She excelled scholastically and had continuously impressed us with her dedication and responsibility to develop as a well rounded individual. LICU feels privileged in assisting our youth to obtain a sound educational foundation that will enable them to be an asset to their families and their communities. We look forward to having all our scholarship recipient graduate with honors as Yesenia did and we encourage all our Standard Six students to put nothing but their very best efforts in everything that they do to give them that edge that could make them our next scholarship recipient. The best way to prepare for tomorrow is to start today.
