La Inmaculada Credit Union Ltd.

The La Inmaculada Credit Union membership, its Directors, Officers, Management and Staff proudly gathered in mass to commemorate and celebrate sixty years of unity, savings, benefits, services and much success. The over 1600 persons gathered at the Multi-Purpose Complex in Orange Walk Town from way before the due time, anxious and eager, to be a part of such a grandiose occasion. Everyone was greeted with a welcoming smile and were immediately treated to their first give-aways: T-shirts, reports, a fan, and a handy grocery bag. They also received two tickets: one to collect their food and beverage and the other to participate in the many cash and share prizes that were to be raffled after the business session. The fabulous Share Drive prizes that had accumulated a barrel full of tickets since February 2009 were also to be raffled.

The excitement and energy of the immense crowd was palpable. The audience also had quite a number of representatives of our sister credit unions from throughout the country. The audience was totally entertained and captured by the musical group of bright and talented children headed by Mr. Lucio Alcoser before the opening of the business session. Once the business session was called to order, the children were invited to go the Kids Fun Corner outside under a huge tent where many wonderful performances and activities had been prepared to share the credit unions philosophy along with its many benefits and services. The many volunteers along with the scholarship recipients did a wonderful job in preparing motivating, entertaining and informative performances that taught our children important values in savings, responsibility in borrowing and repaying and the added benefits that all LICU shareholders enjoy.

The business session was conducted in our usual professional and expeditious manner which captured all our attentive listeners from start to finish. LICU had much good news to share not only in an excellent financial year and continuous increases that allowed for a 6.5% dividend, but also presenting the LICU-SSEDAT project, the Funtastic Game Show and the LICU-BNE Student Loan Program. Awards were distributed to deserving collaborators in each of the above mentioned projects. The Credit Committee had one term expiring for its officer, Mr. Llewellyn Williams, who was nominated and re-elected due to his continuous dedication and contribution to serve for three more years. At the end of the business session, the children were invited in once again as they were also privy to participate in the raffles. The food and beverages were then distributed to each man, woman and child present. Our 60th AGM was a resounding success and a fitting crowning moment representing the deserved accolade to an institution that has been consistently giving the best interest rates, the best services and the best benefits to all who wish to join in solidarity with our credit union brothers and sisters. We look forward to another sixty years of service and success to our institution and our shareholders.
