LICU'S Funtastic Game Show

In October of 2008, the living room of Orangewalkenos and Corozalenos lit up with the exciting and vibrant FUNTASTIC Game Show. LICU joined forces with CTV3, who selflessly produced, edited and aired the show, as a collaborative partner in this ground-breaking and innovative production. The game show is played similar to the popular game show Jeopardy but is based and gives clues directly related to the credit union movement and more so, on the La Inmaculada Credit Union Limited. This fun and entertaining show allowed a positive outlet to the energized sixteen (16) participants who qualified to compete in our six week competition as follows:

  • Carlos Villanueva - Guinea Grass Pentecostal School
  • Evelyn Edis Rodriguez - San Estevan RC School
  • Melissa Escalante - San Estevan RC School
  • Luis Amir Castillo Jr. - La Inmaculada School
  • Suly Grissela Lopez - San Estevan RC School
  • Alexia Esquiliano - La Inmaculada School
  • Jonathan Alexander Pech - Guinea Grass Pentecostal School
  • Christine Slusher - Yo Creek Compassion School
  • Omar Gonzalez Jr. - San Francisco School
  • Sandra Estefanie Cruz - San Estevan RC School
  • Charliza B. Slusher - La Inmaculada School
  • Harold Zuniga - La Inmaculada School
  • Lisemie Lizanne Escalante - San Estevan RC School

Each week three of our participants vied for the highest points so as to proceed to the following week. All the games were hotly contested and were won sometimes by sheer luck and others by shrewd betting. One thing was clear, these participants were all extremely prepared and they all wanted to win. Unfortunately, the nature of the game only allowed for one winner who was Ms. Charliza Slusher and for the two runner ups with the most accumulated points. Guinea Grass Village shone brightly at this game show since both runner ups were from Guinea Grass Pentecostal School being Carlos Villanueva, the first runner up, and Jonathan Alexander Pech, the second runner up. All participants and the alternate participants proved that they had the drive, the conviction and the desire to be at their very best, for this effort, LICU rewarded them with participatory prizes. Congratulations to all participants for a job well done. We look forward to hosting a similar event and look forward to an even more widely viewed and contested FUNTASTIC Game Show.
